GG Hospitality expands team ahead of Manchester hotel opening

GG Hospitality, the restaurant and hotel group owned by Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville, has expanded its senior team ahead of plans to grow the company.

Winston J Zahra, ex-CEO of Malta-based Island Hotels Group, is the new chief executive, while Andy Floyd, formerly of property firm Brentwood Ltd, has been named chief financial officer.

Kate Greville - who previously worked at Middle East-based Q Communications - is the new head of PR and communications.

The team will work with operations director Stewart Davies to focus on expanding the company’s brands including Hotel Football, Cafe Football, GG Events and Catering and the soon-to-launch boutique hotel in Manchester’s former Stock Exchange building - which will feature a restaurant by chef Michael O’Hare.

“I’m looking forward to driving continued growth and am fully committed to leading the business and the brand into its next level of expansion,” says Zahra.

GG Hospitality was created in 2013 and launched its first Cafe Football site at Westfield Stratford in 2014.

Hotel Football, which features a rooftop football pitch, opened opposite Manchester United’s Old Trafford Stadium in 2015.

GG Events and Catering also runs O’Hare’s recently re-launched The Rabbit in The Moon above Manchester’s National Football Museum.

“Our new executive team is made up of experts in their fields,” says Giggs and Neville. “We’re looking forward to seeing what the next chapter will bring for GG Hospitality.”
