Cocotte chooses former 8 Hoxton Square site to open third outpost
Launching on 23 April, Shoreditch will be the third outpost for the Cocotte chain, which also operates a restaurant in Notting Hill and a delivery-only site in Battersea.
Run by a group of Parisian friends, the 60-cover site will span two storeys, serving rotisserie chicken, alongside a selection of salads, sides and homemade sauces.
The menu is designed by co-founder and chef Romain Bourrillon, who takes his experience from working at one Michelin-starred Villa Lauraine, and two Michelin-starred Le Chalet de la Foret, both in Brussels.
Cocotte marinates its chicken, which is free range and sourced from Evron in the Loire Valley in France, for 24 hours in a blend of herbs and spices. Diners have the option of ordering a whole chicken priced at £23, a half for £13, or a quarter for £8.
Side orders include roasted potatoes; macaroni and cheese; mashed potatoes; ratatouille; and roasted sweet potatoes, butternut squash and carrots.
Sauces include garlic mayonnaise; barbecue; Cocotte mustard; chicken gravy; spicy; green sauce; and truffle mayonnaise.
A concise dessert selection includes a lemon tart; date and coconut cake; chocolate and hazelnut cake; and a variety of flavours of mochi (Japanese cakes made from rice flour).
The restaurant will be taking the place of 8 Hoxton Street, which closed just before Christmas.
