Sophie Michell named executive chef at Home House
Chef and food writer Sophie Michell has been named as the new executive chef at Home House private member’s club in London.

Michell became the UK’s youngest female executive chef at London’s Belgraves Hotel in 2013, where she overhauled the menu after the departure of Mark Hix and helped relaunch its Pont St restaurant.

In her new role she will oversee a team of 33, running the food offering at Home House's The Restaurant, fine dining space, pan-Asian Octagon Dining Room and its drawing rooms, lounges and bars.

She will also develop an alfresco menu for The Garden Restaurant and cover room service for the club's 23 rooms.

Michell trained at the Butler’s Wharf Chef School while working at the two-Michelin-starred The Greenhouse and The Lanesborough in Knightsbridge, and was nominated for the Craft Guild of Chefs' Young Chef of the Year Award aged 19.

She also launched The Gorgeous Kitchen at Heathrow’s Terminal 2 in 2014, alongside an all-female team.

“I am so excited to be taking on my new role at Home House, to have such an amazing platform for my food and to be working in such a historic and successful venue, is an absolute dream,” says Michell.

“I look forward to developing the food offering here and taking it to the next level.”

Michell’s TV credits include Channel 4’s Cook Yourself Thin, Iron Chef USA and MasterChef.
