Stuart Gillies no longer director at Gordon Ramsay Group

Stuart Gillies is no longer a director at Gordon Ramsay Holdings, according to recent filings.

Rumours of Gillies' departure as CEO after over decade at the company have been circulating for several months, though Gordon Ramsay Group (GRG) has remained silent on the reports.

Filings at Companies House show Gillies' role as director was terminated on 8 February this year.

The former chef met Ramsay while the pair were working as commis’ in London nearly 30 years ago.

He was promoted to CEO in 2016 after five years as managing director, while Andrew Wenlock took on his former role.

Filings at Companies House show Wenlock, who is tipped as Gillies’ successor, was appointed a director on 30 January this year.

Under Gillies the GRG returned to profit for the first time in two years.

For the year ended 31 August 2016 pre-tax profits rose to £740,000, compared to losses of £2m in the previous year and £6m in 2014.

GRG holds a total of seven Michelin stars across its 33 restaurants worldwide.

The company employs more than 700 people in London, where it operates 14 sites.
