Yorkshire street-food burger outfit opens second bricks and mortar site

Yorkshire burger restaurant KerbEdge has doubled up in the North, opening its second UK site this week.

The new 110-cover restaurant in Sheffield’s Devonshire Quarter opened on 6 February, serving the brand’s signature New-York inspired menu.

KerbEdge offers a substantial selection of burgers including a ‘Yorkshire Blue Burger’ with bacon and blue cheese in a brioche bun; a ‘Bird on the Edge’ burger made with marinated chicken breast, sweet red onion relish and smoked streaky bacon; and a vegetarian ‘Yorkshire Cypriot’ option comprising halloumi, pickled onions, chipotle and tomato sauce.

A selection of sides include the brand’s “legendary” (according to its Instagram page) loaded chips, topped with Jack Daniels barbecue sauce, pulled ham hock, warm beer cheese and citrus pickled onions.

“We’re delighted to have brought our incredible burgers to the good folk of Sheffield. After our success launching our first restaurant in Hull last year, Sheffield was top of the list for our next venture,” says Adam Bryson, KerbEdge founder.

“The city has the same laid back, friendly feel as Hull and it’s one of the few other places that likes Hull’s famous chip spice.”

Founded in 2014, KerbEdge started out as a street food van, and opened its first bricks and mortar site in Hull’s Princes Avenue in 2017.

American style burger restaurants are becoming increasingly popular, with chains such as Five Guys, Shake Shack, The Diner and MeatLiquor now operating at multiple sites both across the capital and in the regions.
