As reported by BigHospitality last year, Kenny will be introducing a new breakfast offering at the hotel, comprising modern interpretations of breakfast and brunch classics.
Further changes being introduced by the chef include the launch of a new cocktail bar and all-day menu at the boutique hotel, as well as an outdoor terrace.
The first stage of changes saw the hotel’s The Set Café rebranded as The Set Bar. The new space, which opened on 31 January, offers a tapas style snacking menu, available from 1pm-10.30pm, as a more relaxed alternative to the restaurant’s three seasonal menus.
The Set Bar’s food menu will include cold snacks and sharing platters, including charcuterie from Kent-based Moons Green Farm served with sourdough and kimchi dip; British cheeses from Neal’s Yard Dairy; and fresh Maldon oysters.
Hot tapas dishes will be cooked in the restaurant’s kitchen, including suckling pig and cheese croquettes; focaccia with chorizo jam and sage; and fried dumplings with cucumber and miso.
A new cocktail menu will accompany the food offering, split into ‘aperitifs’, ‘palate cleansers’ and ‘digestifs’.
The space previously occupied by The Cocktail Shack has also been rebranded, and is now called The Fix. Following its 31 January launch, the bar serves beers, wines, spirits, cocktails and soft drinks alongside an evolving menu based on using waste ingredients from The Set kitchen.
“The new offerings will have their own identity and will offer a different choice to the set menus in The Set restaurant,” says Kenny.
“We want the price point of each offering to be accessible and to appeal to everyone, from those who want a long, leisurely meal with friends at the restaurant, to those looking for a quick pint and an oyster in the bar before heading elsewhere.”
