Tom Kitchin to open a fourth Edinburgh restaurant next year

Michelin-starred chef Tom Kitchin is opening a new restaurant in Edinburgh next year, in the Bruntsfield area of the city.

Announcing the new place on his Instagram feed, accompanied by a picture of a room stripped back to its bare walls and floor and in need of renovation, the Edinburgh-based chef wrote: “Thrilled to announce that we’ll be opening a new restaurant next year in Bruntsfield Edinburgh.

“We’re really excited to create new opportunities to our ever growing, talented team and to bring a new and exciting dining experience to the southside of Edinburgh.”

The restaurant will be the fourth in The Kitchin Group, which also operates the Michelin-starred Kitchin in Leith, Castle Terrace in Edinburgh’s city centre, and the Scran and Scallie in Stockbridge, which holds a Bib Gourmand.

An opening date is yet to be released, but it is expected to open its doors sometime in the summer.

The Kitchin Group recently teamed up with Queen Margaret University (QMU) to launch a scholarship programme to help hospitality students fund their studies.

The Annual Award for Excellence will offer students the chance to apply for the scholarship each year over the next three years. They will also be given the chance to undertake work experience within the group’s Edinburgh restaurants.
