A statement filed on documents at Companies House stated that the company would be wound up voluntarily.
In October this year the 'better burger' company announced it was to shut its site in Hinckley, only two weeks after announcing the closure of its Leicester and Bedford outlets.
Its Leamington Spa restaurant closed earlier in the year, leaving only its original Market Harborough site still open.
Posting on its Facebook page yesterday (17 December), the group said: “Meatcure remains but we’ve parted with the old business and gone back to doing things our way.
“This year has been hell and has broken us both, tested our family and friends and burdened our teams. But like you they’ve stood by us and remained loyal.”
In posts from October the team said they had heard customer's complaints of 'mediocracy' and were planning to make 'huge changes' at the restaurant, including exploring new dish ideas and the potential to introduce a grill section and smoker.
Meatcure had previously engaged in a £350,000 crowdfunding bid in 2016, aimed at funding a further five sites by 2017, but pulled out after “silly questions” from would-be investors.
