Dirty Bones is going back to its roots for its first regional restaurant

Dirty Bones is going back to its roots as a hot dog stand for the launch of its first restaurant outside London.

The group has revealed further details of its upcoming site in the £440m Westgate Oxford development ahead of its opening on 7 December.

Dirty Bones first opened as a gourmet hot dog kiosk with a downstairs restaurant in Kensington in 2014, but has since shifted its menu to focus on other US-inspired comfort food such as burgers and mac and cheese.

The new Oxford site will see a return of the Dirty Dog, topped with barbecue pulled pork, crispy bacon and jalapeno cheese; and the Asian Dog with sriracha, wasabi mayo, seaweed and pickled ginger.

New menu items will include sweet peach and barbecue glazed smoked baby back ribs; cheeseburger tacos; and a quinoa, pecan and black bean veggie burger.

“Oxford is a vibrant, youthful city with so much history – a great balance of old meets new,” says founder and operations director Cokey Sulkin.

“The Dirty Bones concept is the same, combining the nostalgia of old-school Brooklyn with creative comfort food and cocktails that echo NYC’s innovative, evolving food scene. Oxford feels like a natural home to us, and we couldn’t be more excited for it to be our first home outside the capital.”

Since opening in Kensington three years ago Dirty Bones has expanded to four London sites in Carnaby, Shoreditch and Soho.

The group will join its fellow London-based brands Pizza Pilgrims, Sticks’n’Sushi and The Cinnamon Collection at the scheme.
