Three 'world class' restaurants to open in London's Admiralty Arch

A new luxury hotel with three ‘world class’ restaurants is to open within one of London’s most famous monuments.

Hilton has been appointed to run the 96-room hotel within Admiralty Arch, which sits in between The Mall and Trafalgar Square, when it opens in 2022.

Plans include the construction of a rooftop bar, a private member’s club and other ‘exclusive food and beverage components’.

The arch was constructed in 1910 in memory of Queen Victoria with designs by Sir Aston Webb, who was also responsible for the main façade at Buckingham Palace.

It has since served as a centre for wartime intelligence, a Royal Navy outpost, and a centre for the UK Government’s Cabinet Office.

Prime Investors Capital outbid 28 other parties to acquire a 250-year lease on the property from the British Government in 2015.

It has now appointed Hilton to run the hotel under its Waldorf Astoria brand.

“Projects of this calibre are rare, and Admiralty Arch Waldorf Astoria will provide a truly unforgettable hospitality experience when it opens to guests,” says Christopher J. Nassetta, president and CEO of Hilton.

Work is already underway to restore the building’s original features, with a design team led by Michael Blair and David Mlinaric, who between them have worked on The Ritz, Claridge’s, The Royal Opera House and The National Gallery.
