MeatLiquor to close Bristol restaurant 

The burger brand is to close its Bristol site after just two years following an unspecified 'series of incidents'. The company says it is actively searching for new sites in the city.

Roganic to return to Marylebone

Simon Rogan has acquired the former L'Autre Pied site to launch a permanent iteration of his London pop-up Roganic. It comes after Rogan left his Michelin-starred Fera at Claridge's in April in a 'mutual agreement' with the hotel.

Caprice Holdings to launch new restaurant brand at Grain Store site

The group behind The Ivy and Sexy Fish restaurants is to launch a new dining concept on the former site of Bruno Loubet's Grain Store, which closed in August. Granary Square Brasserie will offer all-day dining alongside a coffee and cake and cream tea menu.

Number of female chefs in the UK rises by a third

The number female chefs in the UK has risen by a third since 2016, a new study shows. However, the report found a gender divide still exists across the industry. Though 54% of the hospitality workforce is female, 58% of senior restaurant and catering roles are held by men.

Matt Orlando: "We need to stop using the phrase 'waste cooking'"

The former Noma chef is calling on the industry to change the way it talks about food waste if it wants the wider public to start saving more from the bin. Orlando said chefs should stop referring to recycled ingredients as 'trash' when they were simply other products to work with.
