Polu Poke to open in City of London
Polu Poke is the new concept from Celia Farrar and is being backed by Honest Burgers co-founder Dorian Waite and ex-Cote joint managing director Harald Samuelsson. It has secured a site in Principal Place, Worship Street, for an opening in early November.
The site, which will be situated on the fringe of the City and home to Amazon’s new head office, will have space for up to 25 covers.
It will offer a 'build your own bowl' option alongside Farrar’s signature poke bowls and a grab ‘n’ go menu of pokerito rolls, hot breakfast pots and more, available to eat in or to go.
A further opening is believed to be being lined up in the capital for next spring.
Farrar previously ran the concept at KERB and Street Feast, building up a loyal following, and also operated a two-month pop-up at Selfridges Food Hall.
She also co-authored a recipe book published earlier this year.
Polu Poke will be focused on “big, bold, brave, mature flavours built upon layers of colour, texture and flavour”. It is thought the group is targeting an average spend per head of around £7.
