Pieminister opens 13th site as its expansion plans take off
The popular gourmet pie company has opened at 16 Waterloo Street in Birmingham, its first site in the West Midlands.
The new site is a “perfect location”, according to Stuart Williams, director of William Gunter Hardwick, the company that manages property acquisitions on behalf of Pieminister.
“This is a great centre for quality cuisine with good footfall, close to the shops and perfectly located between New Street and the office sector,” he says.
The company is now searching for six more locations by the end of 2018. Locations on its hit list include Bath, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool and Sheffield.
It is also looking to open additional restaurants in Leeds and Manchester, where the brand’s existing sites are trading well.
Further London locations are also on the cards, with Brixton, Clapham, Earls Court and Tooting areas that the company is considering.
Pieminister was founded in 2003 in Bristol’s Stokes Croft. It currently operates six restaurants in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds and Nottingham as well as six pie and mash cafes in Manchester, Oxford, London, Stoke-on-Trent and Bristol.
In addition, there are 16 pubs across the country that have dedicated Pieminister pie kitchens, including The Old Corn Exchange in Hull, The Pack Horse in Leeds, The Townhall Tavern in Manchester and The Barley Mow in Brighton.
