New World Trading Co to open The Florist in Bristol next year
New World Trading Company (NWTC) is to launch a new concept after securing a large site in Bristol.

The Florist will open in the former Goldbrick House in the city in early 2018 with the 1800s Grade-II listed building being converted into a 200-capacity venue.

The offer will centre on NWTC’s staple range of cocktails and world beers and will serve a food menu that will include deli, rotisserie and grill dishes.

The Florist’ décor will incorporate Victorian touches.

“We are excited to be opening our first Florist in a community which has such a passion for food and city,” says Chris Hill, NWTC chief executive. “We are very much looking forward to immersing ourselves in local life.”

Housed over two Georgian buildings and featuring several interconnecting floors and rooms, Goldbrick House was opened in 2006 by a group of independent Bristol entrepreneurs. The restaurant closed in May last year with the owners citing rising rents and increased competition as reasons for the closure.

The Florist will join The Botanist, The Oast House, The Smugglers Cove, Trading House, The Canal House and The Club House in the NWTC stable of brands.

The group currently operates 18 sites, including five launched in the past year, and has a further four due to open by 2018.
