The chef opened the £3m Manchester restaurant with Living Ventures in 2013 and it has since won four-AA-rosettes, but so far missed out on a Michelin star.
Nathaniel Tofan has now been promoted to head chef, though a spokeswoman for the group confirmed the restaurant will keep Byrne’s name attached as he remains ‘very much involved’ with the venue.
"Developing people is what Living Ventures is all about and Nat has earned his stripes,” says Living Ventures CEO Jeremy Roberts.
“He is a talented chef and with Aiden's continued support we look forward to great things in the future."
Byrne will continue to advise on the food at Manchester House while taking on a consultant role within the menu development team at Living Ventures, led by executive chef director John Branagan.
His initial focus will be on Australasia, the group’s pan-Asian fine dining restaurant which opened in Manchester in 2011.
Byrne became the youngest chef to win a Michelin star aged 22 while working at Adlards in Norwich (now closed). He also currently owns The Church Green gastropub in Lymm, Cheshire.
Living Ventures currently operates over 30 restaurants and bars across the UK including the Gusto and Alchemist brands.
