The TMRW Project to host Michelin panel debate
That’s the topic up for discussion at the next TMRW Project Industry Talks event, which will be held at Tredwells in Covent Garden on 25 September.
It comes ahead of the revelation of the new stars in the 2018 Michelin Guide on 2 October.
Panellists including Tredwells chef patron Chantelle Nicholson and Mark Jarvis, chef owner of Anglo and founder of Neo Bistro, will discuss whether there are better ways of judging and ranking restaurants and what winning a star really means.
The debate will also cover the expectations chefs, front-of-house staff and guests all have around the awards, followed by an audience Q&A.
Industry Talks is part of an ongoing series run by the TMRW Project, a collaborative scheme set up by Duck & Waffle chef Dan Doherty, writer Anna Sulan Masing and Emma Underwood, general manager at Where The Light Gets In to support young industry talent.
The debates tackle sensitive issues such as bullying in restaurants, and whether the sector needs more ‘female-focused’ awards.
