The group is to open its new 5,500 sq ft site this October, and said it plans to expand further. The original site will close down overnight, with the new site opening the next day.
The new location has a large shop front on Hanover Street, and will offer a “cosy and elegant” integrated dining, bar and deli room.
There will be a wide range of Spanish wines, spirits, beers and gins on offer, alongside an array of top-quality Spanish products, as would be expected from a business that has grown to become the UK’s largest online Spanish food and drink supplier.
The new location will allow Lunya to expand its deli range and increase the number and size of its regular events, such as gin experiences and food and wine tastings.
Founders Elaine and Peter Kinsella are injecting an added £150,000 investment into the new site and will create 10 additional jobs, taking their Liverpool workforce to 55.
“Although we and our customers love our existing site in Liverpool ONE, an opportunity arose with a new location offering all the extra space and facilities that was just too good to miss,” says Elaine. “We’re confident all of our many loyal customers will love it.”
Alison Clegg, director of Grosvener Europe, the managing group for the Liverpool ONE complex said she was “delighted” to be accommodating Lunya’s growth, and described the business as a “great success story.”
“We have worked very closely with Peter and his team over the years, and always focused on ensuring they thrive. It is very satisfying to see the business outgrowing its current home and expanding into another great location within Liverpool ONE.”
