The group has taken the site that was once home to upmarket brasserie Chapters, which closed earlier this summer.
The latest cafe in Richard Caring’s Ivy Collection is scheduled to open in late-January 2018. The chain is inspired by world famous restaurant The Ivy in London’s West End.
The Blackheath venture will be one of the brand’s smaller sites, and will feature a Parisian-style terrace seating 20 as well as 87 covers indoors.
The interior will be designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio and will have a ‘stylish, yet laid-back’ look.
As with other restaurants in The Ivy Collection, the British and European centric menu has been overseen by executive chef Sean Burbidge and will offer a vast menu for all-day dining, featuring the likes of shepherd’s pie and chicken milanese served with black truffle mayonnaise.
Like the brand’s locations in Marylebone, Wimbledon, St John’s Wood and Richmond, the Blackheath cafe will serve breakfast, weekend brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, and cocktails.
In December 2015, Caring told BigHospitality’s sister publication, MCA, of plans to roll out The Ivy Café brand across the country with 10 locations under consideration.
The Ivy Cafe’s sister brands, The Ivy Market Grill and The Ivy Brasserie, currently operate around 13 sites in places including London, Guildford, Bath and Royal Tunbridge Wells.
Caprice Holdings will open The Ivy St Helen’s Square in York in November, The Ivy on the Square in Edinburgh in early autumn and an Ivy Brasserie in Harrogate in late autumn.
