Sushi Shop to open two more London sites in 2017
Founded in Paris in 1998, the upmarket sushi brand now operates some 130 shops globally in locations including France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the UAE, the Netherlands and Spain.
Its three London sites have some seating but the vast majority of sales come from takeaway and delivery.
The menu includes sushi, sashimi, poke, ceviche and tartare with all dishes made to order. Sushi Shop has teamed up with a number of high profile chefs over the years including Joël Robuchon and Kei Kobayashi. Sushi boxes for one person start at around £10 with individual pieces of nigiri between £2 and £3 and maki rolls from £5. Sushi Shop’s larger, more premium selections cost as much as £70.
Further UK sites are planned next year with Sushi Shop likely to explore a new ‘neighbourhood’ store format.
“The new sites are the continuation of our ongoing love affair with the English,” says founder Gregory Marciano. “We are delighted with the warm welcome we’ve received from Londoners over the last few years, and hope the new sites will prove just as popular. As well as opening more sites, we will mark our 20th anniversary of trading next year by collaborating with a leading, globally-renowned Michelin-starred, so watch this space.”
