Island Poke set to double up in London
The restaurant brand is believed to have lined up an opening in Broadgate Circle in the City for later this summer, according to BigHospitality’s sister website MCA Insight. It is thought the new opening will feature an evolved, more ‘grown-up’ version of the group’s original restaurant.
It is believed that the company also hopes to open a further two sites in the capital over the next 12 months.
Island Poke launched in Soho’s Kingly Court last October serving a breakfast-to-dinner menu, including ‘acai bowls’ (breakfast bowls) and the choice to BYOB (Build Your Own Bowl) of poké. It also serves Hawaiian-style sashimi and what the company describes as ‘100% Hawaiian’ Kona coffee.
Customers at the original site are served along a production line. There is also a small area of seating for people to eat in house.
Poké is the capital’s current dish du jour. Restaurant brand Ahi Poké is opening a second London site within the new Nova development in Victoria later this month and Honi Poké opened in Soho earlier this year. Asian Pacific brand Kaia, located in the newly-opened The Ned in London, also majors in the Hawaiian dish.
