Daniel Humm, from 2017 winner Eleven Madison Park, will be joined by Ferran Adrià (El Bulli) Rene Redzepi (Noma), Joan Roca (El Celler de Can Roca), and Massimo Bottura (Osteria Francescana) for a talk in Barcelona, Spain on 27 June.
Adria will co-host a panel where each chef will outline their ‘personal vision for the future of gastronomy’ in front of an audience including chefs from past 50 Best lists.
“The 15th anniversary event is being held to celebrate the impact that the World’s 50 Best Restaurants – and in particular the chefs and restaurateurs involved – have had on global gastronomy,” says William Drew, group editor of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants.
“We are thrilled to be championing the discussion about the future of the culinary landscape trends with the world’s greatest chefs.”
The World's 50 Best Restaurants was launched by Restaurant Magazine in 2002.
Over the past 15 years seven restaurants have taken the number one spot, El Bulli (2002, 2006-09), Thomas Keller’s The French Laundry (2003,2004), Heston Blumenthal’s The Fat Duck (2005), Noma (2010-12, 2014), El Celler de Can Roca (2013,2015), Osteria Francescana (2016) and Eleven Madison Park (2017).
Next year’s 50 Best ceremony will be held in Bilbao, Spain. It is the third time in the award’s history the event has been held outside London, following a move to New York in 2016 and Melbourne in 2017.
