IHG to open four Stock Burger Co and Theo’s Simple Italian sites this year

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is to open four new restaurants under its Theo’s Simple Italian and Stock Burger Co brands before the end of the year.

The new sites are expected to open in London before the end of the year, our sister publication MCA writes.

The company, which launched Stock Burger Co at its Holiday Inn site in Brighton at the end of 2015, will open three further restaurants under the format in the capital this year. This will include openings at its Holiday Inn sites in Bloomsbury and on Commercial Road.

At the same time, it will open a second Theo’s Simple Italian, its concept with Michelin-starred chef Theo Randall, at its Hotel Indigo in the city’s Aldgate Place.

The company opened the first Theo’s Simple Italian at its Hotel Indigo in Kensington.

Both concepts are part of IHG’s ‘concept in a box’ programme.

And while the first Stock Burger Co was launched as part of the Holiday Inn, the majority of diners (70%) were not hotel residents, and 90% did not even realise the business was connected to the hotel, according to Simon Burdess, vice president of IHG’s food & beverage in Europe at IHG.

Last year, MCA revealed that IHG was looking to ramp up its food and beverage options across its European estate, with the appointment of a dedicated director of operations for restaurants and bars, who it said would oversee the roll out of its ‘concept in a box’ outlets.
