Tapas Revolution to open seventh site, in Bath

Tapas Revolution, the Spanish tapas group from Omar Allibhoy, is to open in Bath’s SouthGate shopping and dining centre on 1 June.

This will be the group’s seventh site.

The menu will offer the usual tapas, inspired by Allibhoy’s family recipes and Spanish heritage – especially the food of Barcelona, Madrid, and Seville.

Menu options will be divided into fish, meat and vegetable sections, as well as Spanish charcuterie (especially the Jamon Iberico, hand-carved to order by a ‘jamonero’). Other classic examples with include tortilla, croquetas de jamon, calamares, chorizo cooked in Asturian cider and freshly-made churros.

Drinks will centre on gin and tonics, served in the traditional ‘copa de balón’ glasses. There will also be cocktails created with the Cocktail Trading Co.

Options will include the Blood Orange and Cherry Royal (Larios gin, blood orange, aguardiente de cerezas, and a pimento dram shaken with lemon and topped with Cava), and the Espresso Blanco Martini, made with Veterano brandy shaken with espresso, milk, dark chocolate liqueur, Kahlua and Frangelico.

As well as Spanish craft beers such as Estrella Galicia 1906, there will also be a monthly rotating beer calendar from the Electric Beer Brewing Co, and wine served Catalonian-style in a traditional wine jug with a long spout (known as a porrón).

“Bath is a beautiful city and we’re really excited to be opening a tapas bar here,” says Allibhoy. “Tapas is more than food, it’s part of our everyday culture: food and life are always best shared.”

Tapas Revolution Bath will be open 9am-11pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am-10pm on Sundays.
