Location of Adam Handling's second The Frog revealed
The chef has acquired a 2,929 sq ft unit previously occupied by Thai restaurant Manorom Too.
The site will act as a flagship restaurant for The Frog group, with a weekly-changing menu and a more formal offering than its sister site The Frog E1 in Shoreditch.
The 90-cover restaurant will be spread across two floors and feature an open-plan kitchen and a large private dining room in the basement with its own kitchen.
"The new site will draw a different clientele to the first restaurant in Shoreditch, and I want it to be unlike anything else currently available in Covent Garden," says Handling.
It follows the launch of the first The Frog restaurant last summer. Handling said at the time that he was hoping to roll out the concept, with plans to open three sites in the near future.
Like The Frog E1, any future restaurants will be named after the local postcode.
Leisure agents Restaurant Property has been retained by Handling to search for all future The Frog sites.
“We look forward to working closely with Adam and his talented team in the future,”says Matthew Englender, head of sales at Restaurant Property.
