First up was Tandoor Chophouse, a smart Covent Garden restaurant that fuses the British chophouse with the communal eateries of Northern India. Next up was Talli Joe, which serves up ‘half’ plates of regional Indian dishes and is headed up by former Benares head chef Sameer Taneja.
A few rose G&Ts later the tour headed over to Soho to sample Hoppers eponymous Sri Lankan bowl-shaped fermented rice and coconut milk pancakes and a number of its curries. The final stop of the tour was Will Bowlby and Rik Campbell’s Kricket, which applies authentic Indian flavours to seasonal British ingredients.
