Deliciously Ella and MaE Deli group launches third site The Kitchen Counter
The 23-cover site in London’s Herne Hill will be the first under the Kitchen Counter brand, after the group’s first two MaE Deli openings in the city’s Seymour Place and Weighhouse Street.
It will serve grab-and-go coffee, plus eat-in or takeaway breakfasts, brunches, lunches, and healthy dinners, with all options free from wheat, dairy, additives, and refined sugar.
It will open from 7.30am to 8pm on weekdays, and from 9am to 7pm at the weekends.
Typical dishes will include porridge bowls, fresh smoothies, and options such as sweetcorn fritters with baked beans and smashed avocado.
There will also be plant-based salads, rye sandwiches, and signature cakes such as the group’s fudgy brownie, and the Deliciously Ella energy balls.
A new children’s menu will also feature a platter of falafel with hummus, carrot and celery sticks, or roasted polenta sticks with tomato sauce.

“The kitchen is the heartbeat of our business,” says Mills. “We’re so excited to be a member of such a close-knit, supportive and collaborative local community.”
The MaE Deli group was founded by Ella Mills and her husband in late 2015, as an extension of the Deliciously Ella brand, which began as a wellness food blog.
Mills launches the blog in 2011 after being diagnosed with Postural Tachycardia Syndrome, which made her bed-bound.
After exploring methods of managing her symptoms through lifestyle and dietary changes, Mills took what she calls an “all natural, plant-based approach to food”, which led to her being medication-free and able to manage the condition.
She has since published three recipes books and hit over a million followers on Instagram.
