Ollie Dabbous to close Barnyard

Ollie Dabbous has closed his London restaurant Barnyard after three years of trading.

The news comes less than a month after the chef announced he would be shutting the doors of his Michelin-starred restaurant Dabbous in Fitzrovia to focus on a major new project.

Dabbous and his business partner Oskar Kinberg launched casual British restaurant Barnyard on Charlotte Street in 2014.

But now Peruvian food concept Senor Ceviche has acquired the site with the aim of launching its second London restaurant, BigHospitality's sister site MCA has reported.

“Barnyard was a fun restaurant but we have a very busy year ahead with various other exciting projects lined up,” Dabbous told BigHospitality.

“We are sad to see it close, but having been made an offer we couldn’t refuse, we decided that the time was right to move on.”

Barnyard shut its doors at the end of January and the restaurant’s website has also been shut down.

Kinberg and Dabbous revealed last month that they were working on a ‘phenomenal’ new restaurant project, which will be announced in late 2017/early 2018.

Dabbous will remain open until details of the new venture have been finalised.

The chef is also set to launch an 80-cover restaurant, Henrietta, at the upcoming Henrietta Hotel in Covent Garden later this year.
