The first-floor, 65-cover restaurant is the second from husband-and-wife team Joe and Margaux Sharratt.
It is housed within new theatre and creative musical arts space from Andrew Lloyd-Webber, The Other Palace, in London’s Victoria, which itself opened in February this year, in the former St James’s Theatre.
It has opened in the space after Lloyd-Webber – of top musicals including The Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Evita ‒ visited the Brixton site and fell in love with the idea, and approached the team about opening another venue in his new theatre.
Co-owner and chef Joe ‒ who has previously worked with chefs Marcus Wareing and Adam Byatt ‒ has created a new seasonal menu, while sommelier Margaux has chosen the wine list to focus on natural and biodynamic varieties, mainly from France and Austria.

Joe Sharratt will remain mainly in the Brixton kitchen, however. Joe Knowlden, previously of The Clove Club, is head chef of the new space.
The menu - created by Joe Sharratt - will feature small plates designed for sharing, with typical dishes including ham croquettes; Devon crab with white cabbage; XO linguine with egg yolk; raw beef fillet with tarragon; BBQ pork belly with Korean spices; chocolate mousse with blood orange; and a selection of Italian and French cheese.
The large open kitchen – playing on the idea of the ‘theatre’ within a theatre ‒ dominates the site, along with large curved windows offering views over Victoria.
There are communal and well as regular tables, and counter-side seats. The space is open for lunch and dinner from Monday to Saturday.
“We feel so honoured that Andrew Lloyd Webber gave us this fantastic opportunity, and are delighted to have taken over the first floor at The Other Palace,” say Margaux and Joe Sharratt. “We are so proud to be part of this incredible creative space.”
