Ninth Rosa’s Thai Café site will open in London’s Seven Dials

The opening is the latest to be announced following the opening of the Rosa’s site in Brixton earlier this month, and also follows on from the opening of the group’s Lao Café in Chandos Place.

Originally founded as a street food stall in Brick Lane in 2006, by husband-and-wife team Saiphin and Alex Moore, Rosa’s first permanent site opened in 2008 and now runs to eight sites across London.

The new Seven Dials location was secured by restaurant and leisure property specialist Shelley Sandzer.

“We are very happy to see Rosa’s Thai Cafe continue to grow,” says Casey Phillips, partner at Shelley Sandzer. “[This site] is located on a busy corner in the heart of the West End…and is an ideal next step for [Rosa’s] expansion in the capital.”

Rosa’s Thai Café first opened in London’s Spitalfields, but its portfolio now also includes Westfield Stratford, Carnaby Street and Angel. It also provides takeaway for delivery and collection.

Saiphin, who is from Thailand and first began selling family-inspired recipes in her home village, still takes a hands-on approach to the business, including making her own spring rolls on site.

In 2016, the group announced it had significant plans to expand following a £1.8m investment from Santander. It suggested at the time it was looking to move to the “next level” and seeking locations in Victoria, Shoreditch and Brixton.
