The Capital Hotel sold to American hospitality group

The two properties in The Capital Hotel Group have been sold to American firm Warwick Hotels & Resorts for an undisclosed sum.

Veteran hotelier David Levin MBE has agreed to the sale of the 49-room Capital Hotel, home to Nathan Outlaw’s Michelin-starred restaurant Outlaw’s at The Capital, and the 12-room Levin Hotel.

The deal also includes The London Bakery, which has been supplying breads and pastries to high-end London hotels, restaurants and private clubs since 2003.

It marks the first entry in to the UK market for Warwick Hotels, which was founded in New York in 1980 and now operates more than 50 properties in 25 countries.

David’s daughter Kate Levin will stay on as general manager of both hotels, while her father will act as a consultant to Warwick Hotels' CEO Richard Chiu.

David said: “It was a difficult decision to sell, but Warwick Hotels and Resorts is the right company at the right time in this highly competitive London market. I see this as only positive for all concerned.”

The Capital Hotel was founded by Levin in 1970 and has been home to Outlaw’s restaurant since 2012.

Warwick Hotels said it would be working with Kate to develop both properties moving forward.
