Karaoke bar Lucky Voice shapes up F&B, seeks London expansion

Karaoke bar Lucky Voice has announced plans to open a third site in London as it shapes up its F&B offer and adds more languages to its playlist.

Nick Jones head of B2B Solutions, said the company was searching East London and the City for a new site, adding to its existing London branches in Soho and Islington.

The business, which also operates a bar in Brighton, plans to find a large site with A4 use where it can make the most of its new F&B offering. It will also seek a site with a late licence.

Launching in March across the existing sites, the new food and drink menu, created by F&B design agency Blacksheep Design, has been designed to compliment the core singing and socialising offer rather than distract from it, so will include pizza served in boxes, bar snacks and popcorn.

To cater for a growing market, Lucky Voice has also added songs in Russian and Arabic to its playlist this month. Sites already offer songs in English, Spanish, French and Italian.

Jones said the plans formed part of a wider expansion strategy as the company, founded by Nick Thisleton and Martha Lane Fox in 2005, was set to launch its fifth franchise with a venue in Dubai.

He said: "As a company, Lucky Voice is strongly focused on opening new owner-operated sites in London, in tandem with our franchises here and overseas. The plan is to launch in the latter half of 2017, and this will cater for the growing demand for ‘one stop shops’ allowing consumers to dine, drink and be entertained in one place. We’re constantly striving to offer an even better service, which is why we’re also proud to be the first to add a multi-language offering to our customers."
