Cote and Hix Restaurants sign up to energy efficiency forum
Together with Benugo, Searcy's and Greggs, the operators join 35 other major hospitality operators, including The Restaurant Group, Casual Dining Group (CDG) and Nando's as members of the forum, which meets quarterly to share best practice in this area to help improve profitability and minimise their environmental impact.
Mark Chapman of HCRF said: "We’re delighted to welcome our latest forum members who will be able to stay abreast of the latest technologies and practices that operators are using to optimise energy, water and waste. At a time of increasing cost pressures for the sector, collaborating on how to reduce usage is good for the bottom line as well as the environment."
Companies attending the forum claim the focus on saving energy brings 'tangible' benefits for the business.
“The development of our own footprint programme, which has been driven from the board throughout the business, has enabled us to reduce energy, water and waste, which as well as delivering tangible, financial savings, has allowed us to build our reputation and credentials as a leading company in this area," said CDG's Tracy Colbert.
The last forum meeting saw members review a new approach to on-site food waste processing, best practice waste initiatives and a new collaboration on identifying energy waste using analytics to compare usage levels between operators.
Its next meeting in February will review results from the industry benchmarking which defines best practices from all the forum members. To attend the next forum, contact Carbon Statement on 020 7298 6181 or at www.carbonstatement.com.
