Two London hotels join Marriott's Luxury Collection
The Wellesley in Knightsbridge and The Westbury in Mayfair will make their debut under the brand next year.
There are currently just two Luxury Collection hotels in the UK - Donald Trump’s Trump Turnberry resort in Ayrshire, Scotland, and The Park Tower Knightsbridge.
The 36-room boutique Wellesley will join the brand in the first half of 2017, while the upmarket 225-room Westbury hotel, known for its Michelin-starred restaurant Alyn Williams at The Westbury, will follow later in the year following a Spring renovation.
Both sites have signed with The Luxury Collection alongside fellow newcomers Hotel de Berri in Paris, Cristallo in Cortina, Italy and The Alexander in Yerevan, Armenia.
Mitzi Gaskins, global brand leader at The Luxury Collection, said: “Europe offers tremendous potential and we are committed to increasing our footprint significantly with the world’s finest luxury hotels over the next few years.
“Our goal is to open 12 Luxury Collection hotels globally by the end of 2017, and with these five additions in Europe, we are well on track.”
The Luxury Collection is comprised of over 100 top hotels in more than 30 countries.
The brand was previously owned by Starwood before the company merged with Marriott in a $13.6bn deal earlier this year.
