James Ramsden and Sam Herlihy are launching Enfant Terrible just two minutes’ walk from Pidgin.
Dubbed ‘Hackney’s smallest wine bar’, the venue will run as a barbershop by day before transforming in to a 12-cover bar by night.
“Enfant Terrible is a simple place; eat a tartare, a tin of smoked oysters and some epoisses while drinking a bunch of wine and that’s at the very least, a pretty solid foundation for a damn good night,” said Herlihy.
The bar will feature a similar design to Pidgin and serve snacks including Mutton Tartare, Roasted Rice, Brown Butter and Fish Sauce; and Cognac and Kampot Pepper Caramel Brownie.
A daily changing wine list will start from £4.50 a glass, while cocktails have been created by bar manager Ajax Kentish, formerly of The Franklin in New Orleans and Russell Norman’s Spuntino in London.
"After a brief hiatus away in New York and New Orleans for the last 4 years, I can't think of a better team to be with arriving back in London,” said Kentish.
“I can't wait to see the bar filled with regulars and new faces.”
Ramsden and Herlihy opened Pidgin in 2015 after running London supperclub The Secret Larder.
The restaurant was awarded its first Star in the 2017 Michelin Guide and received rave reviews in The Guardian and The Telegraph.
Enfant Terrible is open from today (1 December) at 51 Greenwood Road, London, E8 1NT.
