Tony Conigliaro to open Warhol-inspired bar, Untitled

The new space at 538 Kingsland Road will combine food, cocktails, art and design, including acting as an exhibition space for art installations and works by local artists. It will take inspiration from Andy Warhol’s Silver Factory, the famous artist’s New York studio, which was known for welcoming other artists, performers and celebrities.  

Created by Conigliaro and the team behind his Drinks Factory research consultancy – including head of research and Untitled partner, Zoe Burgess ‒ the new menu will offer 12 original cocktails, each playing on the senses of sight, smell, and taste. Drinks names will include Snow, Rice, and Violin.

There will also be coffee available throughout the day, from east London coffee roaster Dark Arts.

The main space will centre on a 20-seat communal table, with the interior design from architectural studio Studioprototype and Conigliaro’s long-term friend Benny Robinson, aka graphic designer Machine17. The design will focus on polished concrete and silver walls, in a nod to Warhol’s creative 1960s-80s space.

Conigliaro is well-known for his use of molecular mixology in cocktails, and his work has featured in London bars and restaurants such as The Lonsdale, Roka and his Bar Termini in Soho, which opened in 2015.

He is also drinks consultant at the setter Townhouse bars in Clerkenwell and Marylebone, and has also worked with Grain Store from Bruno Loubet.
