Redcomb Pubs acquires The Old Manor in expansion push
The pub, which dates back to the 13th century, claims to be one of the town’s oldest surviving buildings, and still contains many original features such as Tudor timber beams and vaulted ceilings. It is an already-established operation, and the current staff will remain as Redcomb takes over.
The dining room has 170 covers, and there is also a large bar and private function room available to hire. The food menu focuses on traditional pub classics, while the drinks menu features a wide range of real ales.
Owned by Dan Shotton and Mark Draper, Redcomb Pubs offers a London-based portfolio of traditional pubs and restaurants that aim to be a real part of their own local communities.
The group has been on an expansion push recently, including two new acquisitions in the past two months – notably The Old Shades in Whitehall, in October.
Of the new site, managing director Shotton said: “The Old Manor comes to the Redcomb Pub estate with great heritage and a great reputation, making it a fabulous, well-researched addition to our growing portfolio. Well-established, quality sites such as The Old Manor come along too infrequently and we are delighted to be bringing this well-loved site into the Redcomb fold.”
The Redcomb Pubs portfolio stretches across London and the south, and includes The Theodore Bullfrog in Charing Cross, The Village Inn in Ealing, The Crown & Horns in Berkshire, The Coach & Horses in Greenwich, and The Cherry Tree in Dulwich, and Worplesdon Place in Guildford. It also operates The Seagate Pub and Hotel in the Torridge Estuary in Devon.
