The group has signed a conditional lease agreement for a 19,250 sq.ft site at 106 Commercial Street.
The location is expected to feature 450 seats, 17 restaurants, four bars, a Cooking Academy and a shop and art gallery.
It will be the first Time Out Market in London and will follow the same model as the group’s flagship Lisbon venue, which opened in 2014.
The Shoreditch market is expected to open in the second half of 2017, if planning permission is granted.
Didier Souillat, CEO of Time Out Market, said: “Since 1968 Londoners have relied on Time Out to help them discover what this amazing city has to offer. With Time Out Market we’re taking this to the next level as we will bring together under one roof London’s finest cuisine, best cocktails and cultural experiences, based on the editorial curation we’ve always been known for.”
Time Out has expanded from a listings magazine in to a global business in the last few years.
The media company-turned-entertainment group recently signed a lease to open a market in Porto, Portugal and is planning to launch sites in New York and Miami in a bid to raise the international profile of the brand.
