The changes come after a number of restaurants either closed or lost a big-name chef in the past year.
The Square in Mayfair lost the Two Stars it had held for 19 years following the departure of former chef-patron Philip Howard, who sold the business to Marlon Abela Restaurant Corporation (MARC) in March.
Claude Bosi’s Hibiscus lost its Two Stars after the chef permanently closed the restaurant on Saturday to pursue a new venture, while Michael Wignall at The Latymer lost Two Stars after Wignall left to join Gidleigh Park in January.
There was also a One Star loss for Drake’s restaurant in Ripley after chef Steve Drake left the business in August after separating from his wife Serina.
