Prescott & Conran to open Parabola at London's Design Museum
Set to open on 24 November, the new restaurant is named after the building's 10,000 sq ft roof design, and will open alongside a cocktail bar and a coffee and juice counter.
The space - which will have 70 seats in the restaurant, 36 in the bar, and 30 in the private dining room - will overlook the John Pawson-designed museum on one side, and Holland Park on the other. Food will be from head chef Graham Blower, from breakfast and brunch, to lunch and afternoon tea. In the evenings, when the museum is closed, the site will host an array of guest chefs for dinner services.
Blower brings experience from Mark Hix's group, having helped to open Tramshed and Pharmacy2, and was previously at Petrus in the Gordon Ramsay Holdings Group. He has also worked at Murano, under the instruction of Angela Hartnett.
The cocktail bar will serve 10 original cocktails featuring shrubs and vinegars inspired by the Kyoto Garden in nearby Holland Park, and be overseen by head bartender Olly Hornby Smith, whose career has included Milk & Honey, Hakkasan, and Soho House.
There will also be a members' room available for Design Museum members during the day, which will become a private dining and drinks space for dinner guests in the evening.
