The Nottingham site - the group's fourth - will open on Victoria Street next month on the former site of the Ark clothing store as part of owner Tom Brooke's plans to open five new restaurants every year.
Brooke said: “Nottingham was always the ideal choice for us. The city has a thriving food and drink scene and, as a family-run business which is passionate about the food we serve, we feel that we can offer something truly authentic, high quality and great value for money.
“To open a restaurant outside London is big step for us but it is also very exciting. Having already developed a loyal following, we can’t wait to prove to Nottingham and other cities why Red Dog Saloon is the go-to-place for diners who love authentic American burgers and ribs.
“We aim to become the number one American restaurant brand in the UK with 60 sites nationwide.”
Authentic
Sites are set to open in Liverpool and Southampton later this year taking the authentic American barbecue concept, using imported specialist smokers, further afield. Brooke said despite ambitious plans for growth, he will not be looking for external investment to keep the business family-owned and run.
Brooke added: “Having travelled across the USA, I realised that the UK didn’t have a restaurant where diners could taste and appreciate true, authentic American cuisine. I wanted a place that took inspiration from the culture and served great food and drink.
“We use the very best meat from sustainable sources and a special smoking method which takes 18 hours and preserves the flavour of the meat. The chefs at Red Dog Saloon use traditional American cooking techniques and authentic recipes to ensure the food is moist and full of flavour."
