Galvin at Windows re-launches Pay What You Like five-course menu

Galvin at Windows, the Michelin-starred Galvin brothers’ restaurant on the 28th floor of the London Hilton Park Lane, has launched its Pay What You Like menu for a second year.

The five-course menu is available to guests throughout August. It asks diners to pay whatever they think the meal is worth, and is part of the restaurant’s aim to offer Michelin-starred food at accessible prices.

The courses include Isle of Wight heritage tomatoes with buffalo mozzarella and pain d'épice; Cornish mackerel with smoked brandade, Lyonnaise and leek velouté; Suffolk pork belly, boudin noir, celeriac, peas and roasting jus.

This is followed by aged Comté cheese, chutney, and raisin bread, plus Valrhona chocolate fondant with nougat parfait and orange ice cream.

The menu must be booked two days in advance, and is limited to four people per table booking.

Fred Sirieix, general manager of Galvin at Windows, explained to BigHospitality: “We launched the Pay What You Like menu last year as an experiment to see how generous Londoners are and also to show that just because we are a Michelin-starred restaurant doesn’t mean that our price points are inaccessible.

“Last year proved to be a great success with guests exceeding our already high expectations as to how much they would pay – and therefore we thought that we would bring it back again for another year.”

Galvin at Windows is part of the Galvin Restaurants group run by Jeff and Chris Galvin. Their other sites include the Bistrot de Luxe, La Chapelle, Galvin at Athenaeum, food-led ‘pub’ Galvin Hop, and Demoiselle in Harrods department store in London, alongside Brasserie de Luxe and The Pompadour in Edinburgh.
