Breaking Bad bar returns to London to find permanent site
ABQ is based in an RV truck and allows guests to ‘cook’ cocktails in a makeshift lab while donning Walter White-esque yellow hazmat suits.
The bar launched in Hackney last July and extended its original three month run after over 42,000 people applied for tickets.
Now it is returning to London on 5 August with plans to raise funding for the project to secure its first permanent home.
Seb Lyall, founder of the Lollipop, the collective behind ABQ, said: “Our community requested us to bring the bar back to London. How can we say no to them? No doubt ABQ has been one of the most interesting and fun projects we have done in the last few years.”
Lyall told BigHospitality that the bar would initially pop-up in Hackney on a rolling basis while the team searched for another venue.
New cocktails will include Saul’s C2H6O, a semi-frozen drink made with dry ice, and The Blue Flynn, a rum-based concoction which changes colour depending on its acidity.
ABQ’s return follows a sell-out three month run in Paris, where its waiting list stretched to over 22,000 people.
Lollipop’s other projects have included London’s first Owl Café and the interactive Moleculart pop-up at the Oxo Tower.
ABQ will run from Wednesday to Sunday from 5 August at 455 Hackney Road.
