Chefs John Burton-Race and Chris Sherville launch private events company
The chefs will help to ‘curate parties’ for everything from weddings, launches, sporting events, private home parties, or even gatherings on a yacht – with a focus on the West Country and London.
Dishes will be classically-inspired and colourful, drawing on the chefs’ backgrounds in high-end cooking, and use the season’s best available produce.
The service will also offer menus, wine, waiting staff, a sommelier, and even a butler if required.
Burton-Race, who trained at establishments such as Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons and L’Ortolan, won two Michelin stars when he took over The Landmark London in 2000, and in 2005 went on to win a star for his then-restaurant The New Angel in Dartmouth in 2005.
He then established a television and media cooking career, including appearances on the BBC’s Great British Menu, and reality shows such as Let’s Dance for Comic Relief and I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!; and also became known for his somewhat turbulent marital life and financial problems, which saw him sell The New Angel.
Chris Sherville has a career history as a Totnes-based private chef and high-end caterer, having begun his career with a Diploma from the Leith’s School of Food and Wine. His cooking focuses on British-inspired classic dishes with a Mediterranean influence.
