Muriel’s Kitchen opens first of five MK grab-and-go outlets

Restaurant-café group Muriel’s Kitchen has launched its first grab-and-go brand extension, MK by Muriel’s Kitchen, in London’s Putney.

Set to open in July, the 1,000 sq ft, 15-seat quick-service site will offer a licensed variation of the British-style brand, with everything available to take away from breakfast to dinner.

Co-owners, husband-and-wife team Sam and Charlotte Miller, hope it will be the first of five sites by 2017.

Aiming for an average spend of £6.50, dishes will be along the lines of egg tartlets, fresh pastries, seasonally changing soups, protein pots, sandwiches and salads.

Signature dishes will include Muriel’s Beef Lasagne, Nana’s Recipe Fish Pie and handmade Scotch Eggs.

There will also be a range of cold press juices, artisan teas and coffees, including cold brew coffee from Point Blank; plus a selection of alcoholic drinks from small-batch suppliers, such as craft beers, pre-mixed cocktails, and take-away wine.

Décor will follow the existing Muriel’s Kitchen venues, including blackboards, tiled flooring, and a marble serving counter.

Founded in 2011 by husband and wife team Sam and Charlotte Miller, the group now operates three sites across London, comprising Richmond, Soho, and South Kensington.

Sam Miller said: “MK by Muriel’s Kitchen will aim to be a community hub, delivering something for everyone from healthy to indulgent items throughout the day.”
