- Gordon Ramsay is eyeing sites in Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham to open a series of regional restaurants over the next 18 months. They will be the chef's first UK venues outside of London since Glasgow's Amaryllis closed its doors in 2004.
- Burger & Lobster has ended its 'no-menu' policy after receiving over 1,000 emails from customers asking what it serves. The restaurant group - which offers a burger, a lobster, and a lobster roll for £20 each - is 'keeping it simple' but offering more flexibility in size and price.
- JD Wetherspoon has launched a range of pro-Brexit beer mats in its pubs comparing the morals of the International Monetary Fund - which backs Remain - to FIFA. A spokesperson for the pub group denied a Leave vote would cause issues for the hospitality industry, but said it was about the 'UK deciding for itself'.
- Chris and Jeff Galvin have taken the top prize at this year's Craft Guild of Chefs Awards in London. The Michelin-starred brothers received the Special Award at a ceremony recognising the greatest culinary talent across the hospitality industry.
- Carluccio's is adding pizza to its menu for the first time with the launch of its 'new generation' of restaurants. The revamped venues include an open kitchen and retail area as part of a push to help the 112-strong group stand out from the wealth of Italian chains on the high street.
