What were some of the top stories in hospitality this week? Here's our pick.
- Michelin-starred restaurants in England should be forced to display food hygiene ratings or face a fine, Councillors have warned. In December The Food Standards Agency found that just 55 per cent of Michelin venues scored the top hygiene score, compared to 83 per cent of chains.

- The Tate Modern is seeking 120 restaurant staff to work in five bars and restaurants as part of its new £260m extension. Launching in June, the ten-storey Switch House development will expand gallery space by 60 per cent and is expected to boost visitor numbers by 1m a year.
- The hospitality industry has backed Government proposals to improve transparency around tipping, ensuring all tips go directly to staff. A consultation on whether to bring the plans in to law is running until 27 June.
- Travelodge has opened its first hotel aimed at Chinese travellers in anticipation of a surge of visitors from the region. Located near designer shopping outlet Bicester Village, the hotel offers 'noodle kettles', green tea and staff trained to welcome guests in Mandarin.
