London Marriott Hotel Park Lane launching Notch pop-up restaurant

The London Marriott Hotel Park Lane is launching a new rooftop bar and restaurant on 5 May.

Notch will serve Japanese street food from Fudo Shack, tuna cans filled with Negroni’s and feature rooftop swings overlooking Oxford Street below.

The 100-cover venue is popping-up following the success of the Roofnic restaurant, which ran in the same space last summer.

Guests at Notch will be able to munch on spicy buffalo wings, short rib steamed buns and sashimi pizza while enjoying schooners of craft beer, bags of wine, and a range of cocktails.

DENLDN have used reclaimed school science tables, scaffolding, and bomb-proof lighting to create the space.

Changing hotel dining

The launch comes after Roofnic ran as part of Marriott’s Canvas Project last year.

The initiative is aiming to shake up traditional hotel dining by offering entrepreneurs the chance to launch pop-up restaurants in Marriott hotels.

However, a representative for the hotel group told BigHospitality that Notch was not part of the Canvas Project, and was instead run through the initiative of the hotel management team.

But they confirmed that Marriott would be launching other pop-up restaurants at its hotels later this year.

The spokesperson said: “Given the success of Roofnic last year and other projects under the Canvas Initiative, new pop-up food content will [open] this year in the UK and Europe. Specifics of what they will be remain unconfirmed.”

Notch will open seven days a week from 10am – 10pm until the end of September, weather permitting.
