The 16,000 sq ft site, at Brown’s Buildings in the City of London, will house a 9-hole crazy golf course, five bars and three street food vendors when it opens on 27 May.
Created by events business The Institute of Competitive Socialising, Swingers – The Crazy Golf Club taps into the growing trend for leisure-led bars and restaurants, seen with the likes of darts-based club Flight Club and table tennis-themed Bounce venues, which have both opened in London in the last five years.
The new site will include five bars, a gin terrace and three resident street food vendors - Pizza Pilgrims, Patty&Bun and Le Bab - who will create a number of dishes especially for Swingers.
Customers will be able to buy £13 tickets in advance to play a round of 9-hole crazy golf with 50 per cent of the allocation held back for walk-ins on the day. Entry to the venue is free allowing customers to eat and drink without playing if they wish.
Teamed up
Alongside its food offering, The Institute of Competitive Socialising has teamed up with Diageo Reserve which has created the gin terrace's signature drink - Tanqueray No.Ten and tonic and the Course Bar's Bulleit Bourbon.
London coffee company Nude Coffee Roasters will also be providing an in-house coffee counter, serving coffees to drink-in or takeaway from 12pm to 6pm daily.
The Institute of Competitive Socialising was created by politics graduates Matt Grech-Smith and Jeremy Simmonds after they sold their youth events business Rough Hill in 2012.
The company, joined forces with creative partner Josh Ford to found Swingers, the crazy-golf pop-up, which ran from September 2014 to March 2015.
A spokesperson for the company said more sites, following the launch of the first permanent one, are planned for the future.
