Angela Hartnett and Giorgio Locatelli among star-studded charity dinner line-up

Seven top chefs including Angela Hartnett, Giorgio Locatelli and Cyrus Todiwala are to take part in a fundraising dinner to raise funds for food charity FoodCycle.

The dinner at the London Guildhall on 21 April will feature a seven-course menu around the theme of “a green and pleasant land”. Each chef ‒ also including Skye Gyngell, Shay Cooper, Anna Hansen, and Ben Tish ‒ will cook a course, with all proceeds from the event going directly to FoodCycle. The chefs hold four Michelin stars between them.

The Observer newspaper restaurant critic Jay Rayner will host the evening and also provide the entertainment with his band, the Jay Rayner Quartet.

Tickets for the event cost £350 per person, with tables pricing £3,500.

National charity FoodCycle was founded in 2009, and operates 29 projects across the UK. It cooks surplus food into healthy, three-course meals for people who it describes as at risk of social isolation, and encourages its diners to eat with guests and volunteers from the local community to increase their interaction.

Mary McGrath, chief executive of FoodCycle said: “We are so excited for the big night and hope it will raise funds for our work, helping us to open more projects, serve more meals and support even more vulnerable people. With six Michelin stars, two MBEs and an OBE amongst our line-up of amazing chefs, the dinner is set to be a fabulous evening.”
