Tom Aikens' casual restaurant and deli brand Tom's Kitchen will open a deli and bar at London landmark HMS Belfast in March.

Tom's Kitchen Deli & Bar HMS Belfast, which will include a 58-cover rooftop bar, will open on 12 March in the space currently occupied by the vessel's Quayside Cafe and Upper Deck bar.

Compass Group UK & Ireland's Levy Restaurants UK, which won the contract to supply catering on HMS Belfast last year, will run the restaurant in partnership with Tom's Kitchen.

Aikens, whose company operates four Tom's Kitchen sites in the UK - in Chelsea, Canary Wharf, St Katharine's Docks and at Somerset House (in partnership with Compass) said: “The opportunity to create a Tom’s Kitchen Deli and Bar in such an extraordinary space is a real privilege, and one that we are very excited about.”

Second World War Royal Navy warship HMS Belfast is moored on the River Thames in the Pool of London with views of Tower Bridge.

Work to transform the existing deli and bar space on the ship will take place between 9 and 12 March before it re-opens as Tom's Kitchen Deli & Bar HMS Belfast.

The deli will offer the Tom’s Kitchen signature range of sandwiches, fresh salads and platters, bakery and beverages, whilst the bar, which will open until late, will serve up wines, cocktails, craft beers and a selection of nibbles.
